Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)

The contractor shall serve as the principal advisor to the Information System Owner (ISO), Business Process Owner, and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)/Information System Security Manager (ISSM) on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of an information system. The ISSO shall be responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of security controls in accordance with the Security Plan (SP) and DoD policies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating with the ISO to ensure the appropriate operations security posture is maintained for the Information System

• Serving as principal advisor on all matters involving the security of an Information System

• Managing day-to-day security operations of the system

• Monitoring information systems and environment of operations

• Managing and controlling changes to the system

• Handling security incidents

• Assisting in the development of security policies and procedures, the System Security Plan, Security Impact Analysis, and documentation of mission and business functions

ISSO Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology (from an ABET accredited or NCAE-C-designated institution)

• Two or more years of proven Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) experience or related role

• Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies

• Experience with security assessment tools and techniques

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• DoD/Military Training: 531-25B30-C45, J-3B-0440, DAU ISSM Basic Playlist, RMF Implementers Course or equivalent

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Lead Endpoint Security Engineer to take charge of our cybersecurity efforts, particularly focusing on endpoint security. As a Tanium Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be responsible for leveraging Tanium as a critical tool in detecting and mitigating threats while ensuring strategic management of the platform. Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active Secret Clearance.
  • Extensive experience as a Tanium SME, particularly in using the tool for detection and endpoint security.
  • Proven track record in reducing false positives and improving threat detection efficacy.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with SOC operations, preferably with experience in roles similar to a Deputy SOC Lead.
  • Ability to work onsite at a SCIF as required.
